URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE

...VERY WINDY ACROSS NORTHEAST OREGON AND SOUTH CENTRAL
WASHINGTON THIS AFTERNOON...

.A cold front sweeping across the area this afternoon will cause
winds to increase throughout northeast Oregon and eastern
Washington...including the Kittitas Valley, the Yakima Valley, the
Simcoe Highlands, Foothills of the Northern Blue Mountains and
the Lower Columbia Basin. Strong and gusty winds will also likely
cause areas of blowing dust to develop...especially in the Lower
Columbia Basin and surrounding Foothills. Winds will quickly
diminish around or just after sunset in most locations.

...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM PDT THIS EVENING...

The National Weather Service in Pendleton has issued a Wind
Advisory...which is in effect until 8 PM PDT this evening.

* WINDS...Southwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 50 mph. The
  strongest winds will occur near Bickleton.

* TIMING...Bickleton has already observed strong winds. Winds will
  increase in other areas of the Simcoe Highlands this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects.
  Blowing dust is likely near recently plowed fields. Tree limbs
  could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected. Winds
this strong can make driving difficult...especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
