.DISCUSSION...
Scattered showers will be prevalent across the forecast area
today. The showers will be most numerous east of the James River.
Rainfall amounts will be light, but the showers may create gusty
winds at times. Northwest winds will be brisk today at 15-30 mph.
Drier conditions with a warming trend can be expected Wednesday
into Thursday.

Near normal temperatures along with mainly dry conditions are
expected much of the holiday weekend.

...LOW FIRE DANGER...

The Grassland Fire Danger Index will reach the low category
this afternoon. Favorable weather conditions or a high moisture
content of grasses and other dry organic material on the
ground indicate that the probability of a fire occurrence is low.
Outdoor burning under these conditions can usually be performed
with reasonable safety precautions.

OUTLOOK FOR WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON...The Grassland Fire Danger Index
will reach the low category.
