...WATER IS BEING RELEASED OVER GRANITE REEF INTO SALT RIVER CHANNEL...

AT 10 AM TUESDAY...MARICOPA COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT
INDICATED SALT RIVER PROJECT OFFICIALS WERE RELEASING 50 CUBIC FEET
PER SECOND (CFS) OF WATER OVER GRANITE REEF DAM INTO THE SALT RIVER.

THIS AMOUNT OF FLOW WILL BE CONTAINED WITHIN THE BANKS OF THE SALT
RIVER...AND AT THIS TIME IS NOT EXPECTED TO IMPACT ANY DOWNSTREAM
UNBRIDGED CROSSINGS.

INCREASES IN THE AMOUNT OF WATER FLOWING DOWNSTREAM OVER GRANITE
REEF DAM COULD OCCUR...SHOULD THERE BE ADDITIONAL RAINFALL OR
CHANGES IN RUNOFF...NECESSITATING ADDITIONAL RELEASES BY THE SALT
RIVER PROJECT.

IF YOU HAVE ANY INTERESTS ALONG THE SALT RIVER...ESPECIALLY ALONG
LOW LYING AREAS...TAKE NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS...AND REMAIN ALERT FOR
INCREASES IN THE RIVER LEVEL. REMEMBER...BE A SMART MOTORIST AND DO
NOT DRIVE THROUGH WATER OF UNKNOWN DEPTH. THE WATER MAY BE DEEPER
AND STRONGER THAN YOU THINK.
