WEATHER SYNOPSIS
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PADUCAH KY
343 AM CDT SUN JUL 26 2015

UPPER LEVEL ENERGY TAPPING INTO DEEP MOISTURE IS EXPECTED TO
SPREAD SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS ALL OR PART OF THE AREA
TODAY AND TONIGHT. BEYOND THAT A LARGE UPPER LEVEL RIDGE OVER THE
SOUTHERN PLAINS WILL GRADUALLY SPREAD NORTHEASTWARD OVER OUR AREA
EARLY THIS WEEK. THIS WILL RESULT IN INCREASINGLY HOT AND MORE
HUMID CONDITIONS WITH HEAT INDICES OVER 100 DEGREES AREA WIDE BY
MONDAY AND LASTING THROUGH WEDNESDAY. ACTUAL HIGH TEMPERATURES
WILL BE IN THE LOW TO MID 90S WITH LOWS HOLDING IN THE 70S. SHOWER
AND THUNDERSTORM CHANCES WILL SPREAD SOUTHEASTWARD ACROSS THE
REGION TODAY...THEN GRADUALLY SHIFT NORTHEASTWARD INTO SOUTHWEST
INDIANA TONIGHT AND MONDAY. THE BEST CHANCE OF AREA WIDE
PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED TO BE WEDNESDAY INTO WEDNESDAY NIGHT
WITH THE APPROACH AND PASSAGE OF A COLD FRONT. THE UPPER LEVEL
ENERGY ASSOCIATED WITH THE FRONT WILL SUPPRESS THE UPPER RIDGE
BACK TO OUR SOUTHWEST. THIS COMBINED WITH HIGH PRESSURE AT THE
SURFACE WILL RESULT IN COOLER TEMPERATURES AND LOWER HUMIDITIES
FOR THE LATTER HALF OF THE UPCOMING WEEK.
