URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PEACHTREE CITY GA
110 AM EST TUE JAN 27 2015

...ALTHOUGH PERIODS OF VERY LIGHT SNOW WILL REMAIN POSSIBLE
TONIGHT THE MAIN CONCERN WILL BE BLACK ICE...

.OCCASIONAL PERIODS OF LIGHT SNOW AFTER MIDNIGHT WILL CONTINUE
OVER PARTS OF NORTH GA TUESDAY MORNING. ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE
LIMITED TO A TENTH OF AN INCH OR LESS FOR THE HIGHEST ELEVATIONS
GIVEN THE LACK OF AVAILABLE MOISTURE. OF MORE CONCERN IS THE
POTENTIAL FOR PATCHES OF BLACK ICE TO DEVELOP ON ROADS AND BRIDGES
THIS EVENING AS TEMPERATURES FALL BELOW FREEZING. ALTHOUGH ONLY
AREAS ABOVE 2500FT HAVE SEEN TRAVEL ISSUES THUS FAR...IT IS
ANTICIPATED THAT THE ELEVATIONS THAT SEE BLACK ICE WILL LOWER
THROUGH THE NIGHT. THE BLACK ICE WILL BE MOST PREVALENT ALONG THE
WIND SHELTERED SIDE OF MOUNTAINS WHERE RESIDUAL WATER ON ROADWAYS
WILL NOT DRY OUT.
