Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co

.Discussion...

Wetter weather is in store for the mountains on Tuesday, spreading
into the plains on Wednesday as deeper monsoon moisture spreads into
the region and a cold front drops through the plains. Tuesday will
experience above normal temperatures, particularly for the southeast
plains with breezy southerly winds. However humidity levels are
expected to remain above critical thresholds. The cold front will
move through Tuesday night keeping temperatures below normal for
Wednesday and Thursday. Thunderstorm activity will be focused more
across the southeast mountains and adjacent plains these days. A
little drier air moves into the north for Friday, but the typical
afternoon and evening thunderstorms can still be expected. Another
uptick in the monsoon moisture may spread in by early next week.

Most areas will see good to excellent afternoon smoke dispersions on
Tuesday, however the mountains will see dispersions limited to the
fair to poor category in and near showers and thunderstorms. A similar
pattern is expected for Wednesday except afternoon dispersions will be
a category lower across the plains due to the cooler temperatures.
