Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
639 AM MDT Wed Sep 20 2017

...A Fire Weather Watch has been issued from Noon until 7 PM MDT
Thursday for gusty winds, low humidities and dry fuels for fire
weather zones 226 through 237 which includes the I-25 corridor and
the southeast Colorado plains...

.Discussion...

Today...A modestly cooler and more moist airmass has moved over
the eastern plains and eastern mountains resulting in higher
humidities and lighter winds. Over the remainder of the district,
gusty southwest winds will develop again in the afternoon, but humidities
will remain above 15 percent.

Thursday...Gusty southwest winds and a drier airmass will return to the
eastern plains. As a result, a fire weather watch has been issued for
the eastern plains and Interstate 25 corridor. Gusty southwest winds
will also develop over the mountains but humidities will remain above
15 percent over the mountains.

Friday through Tuesday...A wetter can cooler pattern develops with the
threat for strong thunderstorms on the plains Friday and Saturday.

For smoke dispersion...Today, the cooler airmass will limit the dispersion
to mostly good over the eastern plains with greater dispersion elsewhere.
On Thursday, gusty southwest winds will return to the entire district.
Deep mixed layers and stronger transport winds will result in excellent
dispersion during the afternoon.

--- thunderstorms imply strong gusty and erratic winds ---
