Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
339 AM MST Sat Feb 24 2018

.Discussion...

Moderate to strong northwest flow aloft will develop across
the area this morning behind a passing upper level weather system.
Precipitation and clouds will rapidly end from west to east across
the behind the passing system, save for some light snow showers
across the Central Mountains. Gusty northwest of 20 to 40 mph will
mix across the lower elevations, leading to elevated fire danger
across Eastern Colorado through the afternoon. Another embedded
weather system will bring another round of snow showers to the
Continental Divide later tonight and through the day Sunday, with
mainly dry and continued cool conditions expected across the
Eastern Plains.

Drier and warmer westerly flow remains in the offing into early
next week, will lead to the potential for critical fire weather
conditions across portions of the Southeast Plains, before another
weather system brings cooler temperatures and chances of
precipitation to the area for the middle of next week.

Smoke dispersal will be very good to excellent across the area
this afternoon, and looks to be good or better on Sunday.
