Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
348 AM MST Mon Feb 20 2017

...A RED FLAG WARNING IS IN EFFECT FROM NOON UNTIL 6 PM TODAY FOR
GUSTY WINDS...LOW HUMIDITIES AND DRY FUELS...FOR FIRE WEATHER
ZONES 234...236 AND 237...WHICH INCLUDES KIOWA...PROWERS AND BACA
COUNTIES...

.Discussion...

It will be windy across the far southeast Colorado plains today, and
combined with low humidities and dry fuels, this will created critical
fire weather conditions. Across southeast and south central Colorado
the weather will be dry, with the exception of a few morning showers
across the southeast plains and in the central mountains. High
temperatures today will generally be above average.

Tuesday and Wednesday will be very warm days and it will be dry, except
for some showers along the Continental Divide. On Tuesday there could be
critical or near critical fire weather conditions along portions of the
I-25 corridor, while on Wednesday there will be a better chance for
critical conditions over portions of the southeast plains.

Smoke dispersion is expected to be good to very good across the forecast
area this afternoon. On Tuesday, smoke dispersion is forecast to be fair
across the far southeast plains and San Luis Valley, and good or very
good elsewhere.
