Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
1030 AM MST Mon Nov 20 2017

...A Red Flag Warning is in effect until 5 pm today for gusty
winds, low humidities and dry fuels for elevations below
9,000 feet across fire weather zones 221, 222, 225, 229 and 230
which includes Teller, Fremont, Custer, Huerfano and western Las
Animas Counties...

.DISCUSSION...

Gusty winds and low humidities will result in Red Flag conditions
along and near the east slopes of the mountains below 9,000 feet
today. These areas will see wind gusts of 25 to 40 mph much
of today along with very low humidities of 10 to 15 percent.
Since the last weather system failed to produce much in the
way of meaningful precipitation, dead fuels will likely be
critical today as a result of the extreme conditions. As
a result, a Red Flag Warning has been issued for today.

Generally dry and mild weather will prevail over the district
this week. A weak disturbance will bring some snow showers to the
central mountains tonight and Tuesday along with slightly cooler
temperatures. Otherwise, it will be dry and unseasonably mild
through the period.

Afternoon ventilation rates will generally reach good or
better over most areas of the district for the next couple of
days. However, parts of the San Luis Valley and eastern
plains will see only poor to fair ventilation today..
