Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
345 AM MDT Thu Sep 21 2017

...A Red Flag Warning is in effect from Noon until 7 PM MDT
today for gusty winds, low humidities and dry fuels for fire
weather zones 226 through 237 which includes the I-25 corridor and
the southeast Colorado plains...

.Discussion...

Critical fire weather conditions are expected today across the southeast
Colorado plains, with strong wind gusts, humidities below 15 percent
and dry fuels. Almost all of southeast and south central Colorado will
see gusty winds this afternoon. Dry weather will continue today with
above average temperatures across the southeast plains and around
average readings in the high valleys.

Friday will be another warm and windy day, however humidities are expected
to be a little higher and therefore fire weather highlights should not
be needed. Some locations along the southern I-25 corridor may see
marginally critical conditions Friday afternoon. The mountains and
far southeast plains are expected to see thunderstorms on Friday.

A cooler and wetter period is then expected this weekend and into early
next week.

Excellent smoke dispersion is expected this afternoon and Friday
afternoon.

--- thunderstorms imply strong gusty and erratic winds ---
