Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
324 PM MST Sat Feb 17 2018

...A Red Flag Warning has been issued for 10 AM until 6 PM Sunday
for gusty winds, low humidity values and dry fuels for fire
weather zones 222...and 225 through 237...which includes the
lower east facing slopes of the Wets and Sangre De Cristo
Mountains, Fremont county, all of the southeast Plains...

.Discussion...
A strong jet stream will spread gusty winds across the mountains
and into the adjacent lower elevations and plains on Sunday.
This will lead to critical fire weather conditions across much
of the area on Sunday. These conditions may return for Monday
across southern portions of the area as gusty winds return.

A storm system will spread snow into the mountains along the
continental divide Sunday night which will continue through at
least Tuesday morning. Heavy accumulations will be possible
across the southwest mountains with moderate accumulations farther
north. The front will drop through the plains Monday night
bringing a slight chance of light snow to the southeast mountains
and plains. Temperatures will be colder on Tuesday. Warmer and
drier weather will return for the middle part of next week with
another storm system possible Friday into next weekend.

Smoke ventilation rates will rise into the very good to excellent
category on Sunday and Monday.

--- thunderstorms imply strong gusty and erratic winds ---
