Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
854 PM MST Mon Jan 15 2018

.Discussion...
A cold night is in store for the plains as an arctic air mass
has moved into the lower elevations. Expect temperatures
tonight to be in the single digits, with a few readings below
zero possible on the far eastern plains.

The cold airmass over the lower elevations will last into the
day Tuesday, with most readings at lowe elevations remaining
below freezing throughout the day. The mountains will be
seasonable with dry weather.

A warming trend will begin Wednesday and last into the early
part of the weekend.

During Friday, critical fire weather conditions will be
possible over the district as a rather robust pacific storm
system moves towards the region. In advance of this system,
gusty surface winds, warm temperatures and low humidities are
anticipated.

Unsettled weather is expected for the weekend. Snow is likely
for the mountains, and rain and snow will be possible across
the plains.

Smoke dispersion over the mountains tomorrow and Wednesday
will generally be poor to fair.

--- thunderstorms imply strong gusty and erratic winds ---
