Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
308 AM MDT Tue Sep 19 2017

...A red flag warning is in effect from noon until 6 pm today for
gusty winds, low humidity and dry fuels...for fire weather zones
221...222 and 226 through 237 which includes Fremont county,
Teller county, the I-25 corridor and the southeast plains...

.Discussion...

The combination of gusty winds, low humidities and dry fuels over
the I-25 corridor, the southeast plains, Fremont and Teller
counties, will result in high fire danger today. The rest of the
forecast area will also see strong gusty winds, but the humidities
will not be as low. Temperatures today will be above average over
the southeast plains, and will be around average in the high valley
locations.

The weather will be dry and warm through Thursday. For Friday and
through the weekend, an upper level low will move over the western
states, and ahead of this system, moisture will increase over
southern Colorado resulting in increased precipitation chances and
cooler temperatures.

With strong winds over the area today, smoke dispersion will be
excellent.

--- thunderstorms imply strong gusty and erratic winds ---
