Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
704 AM MDT Sat Mar 16 2024

.Discussion...

No critical fire weather conditions are expected throughout
the forecast period.

Waves of snow will develop through the forecast period as
a very persistent low pressure system remains over the desert
southwest. Moderate snowfall is expected over the mountains
through Sunday morning. Rain chances are expected over the
mountain valleys and the southern I-25 corridor, but that rain
will transition to snow over the southern I-25 corridor late
this evening.

By early next week the low pressure system will begin to
move to the east, which will bring another round of snow
over the mountains and rain over the lower elevations.

Smoke dispersals will be Poor for most of the region this
afternoon, but will range from fair to good over the
La Garita Mountains and the eastern plains east of I-25 and
north of Highway 50.
