THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF CENTRAL...EAST
CENTRAL...SOUTH CENTRAL AND SOUTHEAST COLORADO.

.DAY ONE...TONIGHT

NO HAZARDOUS WEATHER IS EXPECTED AT THIS TIME.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY

A WINTER STORM SYSTEM WILL TRACK ACROSS NORTHERN NEW MEXICO INTO
THE TEXAS AND OKLAHOMA PANHANDLES SATURDAY NIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY.
THIS TRACK IS FAVORABLE FOR PRECIPITATION OVER MOST OF SOUTHERN
COLORADO.

SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL IS LIKELY WITH THIS STORM OVER THE MOUNTAINS
AND PARTS OF THE SOUTHEAST PLAINS. THE SOUTHWEST MOUNTAINS WILL
SEE THE HEAVIEST SNOW SATURDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING. LATE SATURDAY
NIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY...THE FOCUS FOR HEAVY SNOW WILL SHIFT TO THE
CENTRAL AND EASTERN MOUNTAINS...AND THE ADJACENT SOUTHEAST PLAINS.
SUNDAY EVENING...SNOWFALL WILL DECREASE FROM WEST TO EAST AS THE
STORM SYSTEM MOVES INTO KANSAS.

AT THIS TIME...A SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL OF SEVERAL INCHES SEEMS
LIKELY FOR MOST OF THE MOUNTAINS AND ADJACENT PLAINS...WITH LESSER
AMOUNTS FOR THE SAN LUIS VALLEY AND PLAINS EAST OF THE I-25
CORRIDOR. THE LIMITING FACTOR FOR THE SAN LUIS VALLEY IS THE SPEED
AT WHICH THE SYSTEM MOVES THROUGH. FOR THE PLAINS EAST OF THE I-25
CORRIDOR...THE LIMITING FACTOR IS THE TEMPERATURE. THE AIR MAY BE
TOO WARM FOR MUCH IN THE WAY OF ACCUMULATION.

THERE IS ALMOST ALWAYS UNCERTAINTY WHEN IT COMES TO FORECASTING
SNOWFALL AMOUNTS IN SOUTHERN COLORADO. STAY TUNED TO YOUR NATIONAL
WEATHER SERVICE IN PUEBLO THROUGH THE WEEKEND AS WE CONTINUALLY
FINE TUNE THE FORECAST.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

WEATHER SPOTTERS WILL NOT BE NEEDED TONIGHT.
