This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of central...east
central...south central and southeast Colorado.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Winds gusting to around 40 mph, low humidities and dry fuels will
result in high fire danger across the San Luis Valley today.
Conditions will be favorable for the rapid ignition, growth and
spread of fires. Burning or any other activity that could
accidentally start a fire should be postponed.

A Pacific weather disturbance will move through the central Colorado
mountains tonight bringing periods of snow and blowing snow. Snow
accumulations of 3 to 6 inches are expected with locally higher
amounts possible. Winds gusting to around 40 mph at times will
result in areas of blowing snow and poor visibilities.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday

A storm system is forecast to move across the region Tuesday
afternoon and night. Snow will initially develop along the
Continental Divide Tuesday morning, and spread east across the
Plains Tuesday evening before ending Wednesday morning. Snow
levels will likely fall to around 7000 feet over the mountains
where several inches are likely. Moderate to heavy rain will be
possible across the Plains, especially along the adjacent slopes
of the Eastern Mountains, into the Interstate 25 corridor.

The next upper system will move across the region Wednesday into
Thursday. Another round of mountain snow is expected, while
showers on the Plains remain more scattered.

A strong storm will move across the area Friday into Saturday.
This storm has the potential to bring widespread snowfall to much
of Southern Colorado, including the lower elevations. There is
still some uncertainty with this storm, but it needs to be watched
closely. In addition, overnight lows Friday night into Saturday
morning will likely drop below freezing into the upper 20s.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Weather conditions that meet reporting criteria for spotters will be
likely tonight across the central mountains.
