This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of central...east
central...south central and southeast Colorado.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Strong north winds will spread across the southeast plains today
where widespread gusts to between 45 and 55 mph will occur. More
localized damaging wind gusts can be expected across eastern El
Paso county and eastern las Animas county in the vicinity of the
Palmer Divide and Raton Mesa. These areas could see localized
gusts to around 60 mph. These strong north winds will result in
hazards to high profile vehicles traveling on east west oriented
roadways. Visiblity may be reduced at times in blowing dust.

These strong winds and low relative humidity values will also lead
to critical fire weather conditions across all of southeast
Colorado today given the dry vegetation. Extreme rates of fire
growth and spread will be possible and caution should be taken to
avoid any fire starts today.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday

No hazardous weather is expected at this time.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Weather conditions that meet reporting criteria for spotters will
be possible across the southeast plains through this afternoon.
