EARLY EVENING FOR MUCH OF CENTRAL AND EASTERN NEW MEXICO DUE TO
STRONG WINDS AND VERY LOW HUMIDITY...

.DISCUSSION...
After a day of breezy to locally windy and dry conditions today,
critical to extreme fire weather conditions enter the forecast
Thursday. Widespread humidity in the low double to single digits
will prevail Thursday afternoon amongst strong southwest winds. The
strongest winds will favor the highlands of the central mountains
where gusts of 60 mph are likely in the afternoon. Critical fire
weather conditions will shift to eastern New Mexico on Friday where
critically low humidity and gusty west winds will persist. Improved
moisture on Saturday will bring a reprieve, with only widespread
elevated conditions. Critical fire weather will be more localized to
portions of eastern New Mexico on Sunday and Tuesday.
