...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 530 AM CDT
FOR SOUTHWESTERN ROCK ISLAND...CENTRAL MERCER...NORTHEASTERN CEDAR...
SCOTT...NORTHEASTERN MUSCATINE AND SOUTHWESTERN CLINTON COUNTIES...

At 455 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Hale to near Plainview to Oak Grove, moving
northeast at 50 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include...
Davenport, Rock Island, Bettendorf, Aledo, Tipton, Durant, Stanwood,
Eldridge, Milan, Wilton, Walcott, Blue Grass, Buffalo, Andalusia,
Lowden, Millersburg, Reynolds, Bennett, Donahue, and Seaton.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 74 in Iowa between mile markers 1 and 3.
 Interstate 80 in Iowa between mile markers 270 and 299.
 Interstate 280 between mile markers 1 and 13.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

To report severe weather contact your nearest law enforcement agency.
They will send your report to the National Weather Service office in
the Quad Cities.

Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature`s leading
killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to
be struck by lightning.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
