.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 433 AM CDT Mon Apr 15 2024

Early this morning, a few isolated showers will progress east through
the region with less than a tenth of an inch of rain expected.
Much higher rain chances with upcoming showers and storms hold off
until after midnight tonight.

Critical fire weather conditions are expected to develop by noon,
continuing through 8 PM today, resulting in very high to extreme
fire danger. Easterly winds will start out light early this
morning, but gusts of 25 mph or higher could develop as early as
10 AM. Winds turn more east- southeast by noon. This afternoon,
gusts of 25 to 35 mph will be common as winds continue to veer
more southeasterly. Dew points in the lower 30s or lower will
result in humidity dipping below 30 percent by noon, dropping to
near or under 20 percent by mid afternoon.
