Regional Weather Summary for the High Plains

Over the past 24 hours, the Tri State area has seen daytime highs
top off in a range from the mid 80s to the lower 90s. Several
locales were a few degrees away from at least tying a daily
record. Goodland Kansas did tie the record of 88 degrees back in
2003. Lows during this time ranged widely in the 40s to around
50F. A few isolated spots did drop into the upper 30s. There was
no precipitation.

OUTLOOK... For today, dry conditions over the region is allowing
for red flag conditions for most areas this afternoon and evening.
Tonight into Tuesday morning, there is also a chance for severe
weather to impact portions of the region, mainly along and west of
Highway 25. Showers and storms continue into the afternoon hours.
High winds could also bring about blowing dust issues and will be
dependent on where precipitation occurs. A High Wind Watch is in
place for Tuesday.

For Wednesday on through the remainder of the week into next
weekend, there will be chances for precipitation Wednesday night
into Thursday night and again Friday night into late Saturday
before dry weather returns for next Sunday. Temperatures remain
above normal through midweek, then drop to near and below normal
for the latter portion of the week, only to increase again from
Sunday onward.
