Coastal waters from Murrells Inlet to South Santee River SC out 20 nm... Waters from Murrells Inlet NC to South Santee River SC from 20 to 40 nm... At 341 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots and small hail. This thunderstorm was located 11 nm northwest of South Santee River Entrance, moving east at 15 knots. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until this storm passes. If caught on the open water, prepare for deteriorating conditions. Make sure you and your crew are wearing properly fitted life jackets. Intense lightning is occurring with this storm.
