...INCREASING SOUTHWEST WIND LATER TODAY...

THE APPROACH OF AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE AND AN ASSOCIATED DRY
FRONT FROM THE WEST WILL INCREASE BOTH THE SURFACE PRESSURE GRADIENT
ALONG WITH WINDS ALOFT BY MID TO LATE AFTERNOON . THIS WILL RESULT IN
WEST TO SOUTHWEST SURFACE WINDS ACROSS THE MOUNTAINS INCREASING TO 30
TO 40 MPH WITH GUSTS AROUND 65 MPH POSSIBLE BY MID TO LATE EVENING
TODAY. AT LOWER ELEVATIONS...THE SOUTHWEST WINDS WILL BLOW 20 TO 30
MPH WITH GUSTS OF 45 TO 55 MPH POSSIBLE AT TIMES. THE STRONGEST WINDS
ARE LIKELY TO OCCUR NORTH TO NORTHWEST OF CODY NEAR CLARK AND OVER
THE CHIEF JOSEPH HIGHWAY.

...INCREASING SOUTHWEST WIND LATER TODAY...

THE APPROACH OF AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE AND AN ASSOCIATED DRY
FRONT FROM THE WEST WILL INCREASE BOTH THE SURFACE PRESSURE GRADIENT
ALONG WITH WINDS ALOFT TODAY. THIS WILL RESULT IN WEST TO
SOUTHWEST SURFACE WINDS ACROSS THE EAST SLOPES OF THE WIND RIVER
MOUNTAINS INCREASING TO 30 TO 40 MPH WITH GUSTS AROUND 60 MPH
TODAY THROUGH EARLY THURSDAY MORNING. THE STRONGEST WINDS
ARE LIKELY TO OCCUR ALONG AND JUST DOWNWIND OF THE MOUNTAIN RIDGE
LINES.

SOUTHWEST WINDS OF 25 TO 35 MPH WITH GUSTS NEAR 50 MPH WILL LIKELY BE
ENCOUNTERED ALONG AND WEST OF HIGHWAY 287 FROM BEAVER RIM TO DUBOIS
DURING THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING. THESE WINDS MAY CAUSE LOSS OF
VEHICLE CONTROL OR A BLOW OVER TO HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES TRAVELING
EMPTY OR WITH A LIGHT LOAD.

...STRONG SOUTH TO SOUTHWEST WIND TODAY...

THE APPROACH OF AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE AND AN ASSOCIATED DRY
FRONT FROM THE WEST WILL INCREASE BOTH THE SURFACE PRESSURE GRADIENT
ALONG WITH WINDS ALOFT BY MID AFTERNOON TODAY. THIS
WILL RESULT IN WEST TO SOUTHWEST SURFACE WINDS INCREASING TO 20 TO 30
MPH WITH GUSTS OF 45 TO 55 MPH POSSIBLE BY MID AFTERNOON.
WINDS WILL LIKELY DECREASE SOMEWHAT ACROSS THE LOWER
ELEVATIONS BY EARLY THIS EVENING...A COUPLE OF HOURS LATER IN
THE MOUNTAINS. THE STRONGEST WINDS ARE LIKELY TO OCCUR FROM THE SOUTH
PASS AREA...EAST ACROSS NORTHEASTERN SWEETWATER COUNTY...EASTERN
FREMONT COUNTY AND WESTERN NATRONA COUNTY...PARTICULARLY OVER THE
AREAS MOUNTAINS AND FOOTHILLS.

CASPER MOUNTAIN-NATRONA COUNTY LOWER ELEVATIONS-

...STRONG SOUTHWEST WIND TODAY ACROSS NATRONA COUNTY...

STRONG SOUTHWEST WIND BETWEEN 25 AND 35 MPH...WITH GUSTS BETWEEN 40
AND 55 MPH WILL BE COMMON TODAY ACROSS NATRONA COUNTY. THE
STRONGEST WIND WILL BE OBSERVED ALONG WYOMING BOULEVARD IN SOUTHERN
CASPER...AS WELL AS WEST AND SOUTHWEST RURAL NATRONA COUNTY. THESE
WINDS MAY CAUSE LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL OR A BLOW OVER TO HIGH
PROFILE VEHICLES TRAVELING EMPTY OR WITH A LIGHT LOAD.
