...SCATTERED SNOW SHOWERS TODAY...

SCATTERED SNOW SHOWERS WILL STREAM OFF THE MOUNTAINS TODAY. SOME OF
THE STRONGER MORE PERSISTENT BANDS COULD RESULT IN PERIODS OF HEAVY
SNOW WITH OVER INCH PER HOUR RATES OVER SHORT DISTANCES. THE
FORMATION AND MOVEMENT OF THESE BANDS IS DIFFICULT TO PREDICT AHEAD
OF TIME BUT THERE COULD BE SIGNIFICANT SNOW ACCUMULATION FROM THESE
BANDS. THE MOST LIKELY AREAS THAT WILL BE IMPACTED INCLUDE THE AREA
BETWEEN SHOSHONI AND CASPER...WIND RIVER CANYON...THE SOUTH PASS AND
OREGON BUTTES AREA SOUTHEAST TO PORTIONS OF INTERSTATE 80 NEAR POINT
OF ROCKS...AND THE CODY FOOTHILLS INTO THE BIGHORN BASIN.

BE PREPARED FOR SUDDEN DROPS IN VISIBILITY AND RAPID SNOW
ACCUMULATIONS AT TIMES THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON CREATING SLICK ROAD
CONDITIONS. IN ADDITION...EXPECT ERRATIC AND GUSTY WINDS NEAR THE
STRONGER BANDS WITH GUSTS OVER 35 MPH POSSIBLE. THE SNOW BANDING IS
EXPECTED TO CONTINUE THROUGH SUNSET TONIGHT.
