The National Weather Service in Springfield has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
  Southeastern Barton County in southwestern Missouri...
  Central Jasper County in southwestern Missouri...

* Until midnight CDT.

* At 1133 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a
  tornado was located over Carterville, or near Joplin, moving
  northeast at 70 mph.

  HAZARD...Tornado.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

  IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
           shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
           Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree
           damage is likely.

* Locations impacted include...
  Eastern Joplin, Carthage, Webb City, Carterville, Duquesne,
  Duenweg, Jasper, Golden City, Alba, Carytown, Avilla, Brooklyn
  Heights, Atlas, Dudenville, Oakland Park, and Maple Grove.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 44 near mile marker 11.
 Interstate 49 between mile markers 38 and 56.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter
and protect yourself from flying debris.
