.DISCUSSION....An area of low pressure and associated diffuse surface
boundary will work through the area this morning on into the day
Monday. Snow shower chances will increase through the morning,
with activity becoming and remaining fairly widespread thereafter
into the day. Additionally, will see northwest winds increase and
become fairly gusty during the afternoon hours (gusts up to around
30 mph or so). Combination of mixing heights and strong transport
winds should result in excellent (1000+) afternoon clearing index
values. Precipitation will gradually become more scattered to
isolated Monday night, and winds will also relax somewhat. By
Tuesday, skies clear and quieter conditions settle in, but given
lighter transport winds, afternoon clearing index values will be
much more marginal (around 350 to 450). Somewhat quiet weather
pattern continues further into the week, but current forecast
carries improvements to both mixing heights and transport winds,
yielding daily maximum clearing index values in excess of 800 each
afternoon.
