...STRONG RIP CURRENTS THROUGH MONDAY...

.A LONG-PERIOD SOUTHWEST SWELL WILL BRING STRONG RIP AND LONGSHORE
CURRENTS TO THE ORANGE AND SAN DIEGO COUNTY BEACHES THROUGH EARLY
MONDAY EVENING...ALONG WITH SOME LOCAL 5 FOOT SETS. THIS WILL
RESULT IN DANGEROUS SWIMMING CONDITIONS FOR THE LABOR DAY HOLIDAY
WEEKEND.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SAN DIEGO HAS ISSUED A BEACH
HAZARDS STATEMENT FOR STRONG RIP CURRENTS...WHICH IS IN
EFFECT THROUGH MONDAY EVENING.

* WAVES AND SURF...2 TO 4 FEET WITH SETS TO 5 FEET.

* RIP CURRENTS...STRONG RIP AND LONGSHORE CURRENTS ALONG ORANGE
  AND SAN DIEGO COUNTY BEACHES THROUGH EARLY MONDAY EVENING.

* TIMING...THROUGH EARLY MONDAY EVENING.

* IMPACTS...STRONG RIP AND LONGSHORE CURRENTS...AND POSSIBLY SOME
  LOCALIZED ELEVATED SURF...WILL RESULT IN DANGEROUS SWIMMING
  CONDITIONS DURING THE LABOR DAY HOLIDAY WEEKEND.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT FOR RIP CURRENTS MEANS THAT CONDITIONS
ARE PRESENT TO SUPPORT A HEIGHTENED RISK OF STRONG RIP CURRENTS.
RIP CURRENTS ARE TYPICALLY MORE FREQUENT AND STRONGER IN THE
VICINITY OF JETTIES...INLETS...AND PIERS. SWIMMERS CAUGHT IN A RIP
CURRENT SHOULD SWIM PARALLEL TO THE COAST TO ESCAPE THE RIP
CURRENT BEFORE TRYING TO SWIM FOR SHORE. SWIMMERS SHOULD ALWAYS
TALK TO A LIFEGUARD BEFORE ENTERING THE WATER AND ALSO SWIM NEAR A
LIFEGUARD.
