HYDROLOGIC OUTLOOK
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SEATTLE WA
1243 PM PST Thu Feb 1 2018

...POTENTIAL FLOODING ON RIVERS FROM KING COUNTY NORTHWARD FROM
EARLY SUNDAY THROUGH TUESDAY...

Flooding is possible from Sunday through Tuesday on rivers from
King County northward to the Canadian border. This potential
includes but is not limited to the following rivers:
White, Snoqualmie, Tolt, Snohomish, Stillaguamish, Skagit,
Nooksack, and Issaquah Creek. At this time, Minor flooding is
more likely, with Moderate flooding possible.

A long duration of moderate to sometimes heavy rain is expected
from Saturday night through Sunday evening over the headwaters of
rivers flowing off the Cascades and over the eastern lowlands. The
long duration of precipitation may be the most important factor in
bringing sufficient rainfall for river flooding. Snow levels will
also be high.

This would cause the threat of flooding to begin late Saturday
night with most of the faster-responding rivers cresting late
Sunday. It would then take until Monday or Tuesday for the slower
responding lower reaches of rivers such as the Snohomish to
crest.
