Fire Weather Forecast for Northeast and North Central Colorado
National Weather Service Denver/Boulder CO
318 PM MDT Mon May 29 2017

.DISCUSSION...Tonight and Tuesday...High pressure ridge aloft will
remain west of Colorado through Tuesday with a weakening northwest
flow aloft. There will be enough moisture and instability for
continued afternoon and evening scattered showers and
thunderstorms over the mountains and foothills but only isolated
coverage on the adjacent plains by Tuesday afternoon.

LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Tuesday night through Saturday...An upper
ridge then warmer southwesterly flow aloft for Wednesday and
Thursday will increase fire weather concerns slightly as warmer
temperatures are expected, though humidity is expected to stay
above 20 percent. One concern would be the storms that are able to
produce these days will likely have more wind associated with them
than rain, though not expected to be totally dry. Cooler and
wetter weather is then expected Friday and Saturday with upslope
conditions. Transport winds and mixing heights will be higher
Wednesday than Thursday, leading to better dispersion, before
winds really lighten up Thursday.

...Thunderstorms imply strong gusty erratic winds...
...All surface winds are 20-Foot...10-Minute averaged winds...
...CWR is Chance of Wetting Rain - 0.10 inch or more liquid...
...24 HR Trends are based on averages over the respective zone
groups and may not match the actual forecast values
                    shown in those groups...
