Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Northern Alabama
National Weather Service Huntsville AL
257 AM CDT Sun Apr 30 2017

.DISCUSSION...

Showers and thunderstorms are possible as early as noon today in
parts of NW AL but confidence is low in how strong they will be
and how far east they will track. What does have higher confidence
is a line of showers and thunderstorms that will track west to
east starting around 7PM in the west and getting to the east
around midnight. Widespread rainfall is likely with storm total
amounts around 2-3 inches with locally higher amounts possible.
Winds will be strong today and a Wind Advisory is in effect from
10AM to 10PM for all areas. Sustained winds around 25mph with
gusts up to 35mph, out of the south, is likely. Southerly winds
will decrease slightly overnight but shift to the southwest by
Monday and increase once again. Minimum RH values today will be
above 50 percent given the increased moisture. After the front
moves through overnight, slightly drier and cooler air moves in
for Monday. Highs drop into the lower 70s and minimum RH values
will be 28 to 35 percent.

Dry weather returns by Monday afternoon and remains until we see
our next chance of rain Wednesday night.

Red Flag Conditions are not expected through the next few days.
