FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR SOUTHWEST AND SOUTH-
CENTRAL...UPDATED
ARIZONA AND SOUTHEAST CALIFORNIA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PHOENIX AZ
353 AM MST FRI MAY 6 2016

.DISCUSSION...
A PACIFIC STORM SYSTEM WILL BRING AN INCREASE IN MOISTURE ALONG WITH
MUCH COOLER CONDITIONS TODAY. THERE IS ALSO A CHANCE OF
SHOWERS...INITIALLY ACROSS SOUTHEASTERN CALIFORNIA AND SOUTHWESTERN
ARIZONA THIS AFTERNOON SPREADING EASTWARD INTO SOUTH-CENTRAL ARIZONA
MAINLY THIS EVENING. ALTHOUGH WINDS WILL NOT BE NEARLY AS STRONG AS
THOSE OBSERVED THURSDAY...SOME BREEZY CONDITIONS ARE STILL
ANTICIPATED WITH OCCASIONAL GUSTS AS HIGH AS 25 MPH. THE RELATIVELY
COOL AND MOIST CONDITIONS WILL PERSIST SATURDAY AS THE LOW PRESSURE
SYSTEM WEAKENS AND LIFTS NORTHEASTWARD INTO THE SOUTHERN
ROCKIES...THOUGH THE CHANCE OF PRECIPITATION WILL BE RELEGATED MAINLY
TO THE HIGHER TERRAIN NORTH AND EAST OF PHOENIX.

...THUNDERSTORMS IMPLY GUSTY WINDS...

NOTE...ADDITIONAL FIRE WEATHER FORECAST INFORMATION CAN BE FOUND
IN THE AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION. SEE PRODUCT PHXAFDPSR.
