National Weather Service Marquette MI
354 PM EDT Fri May 3 2024

For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior.

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS... A 29.7 inch low pressure currently spinning over
northwest Ontario drags a 29.8 inch trough across Lake Superior
the rest of today into tonight before lifting northeast. Ridging
builds to 30.1 inches across eastern Lake Superior by Saturday
morning. A weak 29.9 inch trough moves into the Upper Great Lakes
Saturday evening before ridging at 30.1 inches returns by Sunday.
Ridging shifts east early next week as a broad 29.2 inch low
pressure develops on the Northern Plains on Monday. A strong
pressure gradient over western Lake Superior begins to setup
Tuesday morning as a deepening 29.0 inch low pushes eastward
against 30.0 inch ridging over far northern Ontario. A secondary
29.4 inch low pressure moves into southern Lake Superior
Wednesday morning.
