THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR EXTREME SOUTHWEST
NEBRASKA...NORTHWEST KANSAS AND EAST CENTRAL COLORADO.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

A VERY ACTIVE WEATHER DAY IS EXPECTED THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.
IN ADVANCE OF A STRONG UPPER LEVEL STORM SYSTEM AND COLD
FRONT...SCATTERED TO NUMEROUS THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO
DEVELOP AND MOVE EAST ACROSS THE AREA DURING THE AFTERNOON AND
EVENING HOURS. WIDESPREAD SEVERE WEATHER IS POSSIBLE ALONG AND
EAST OF HIGHWAY 25. VERY LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS WILL BE THE
MAIN THREATS. TORNADOES ARE ALSO POSSIBLE.

A BLOWING DUST ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FROM 5 PM MDT (6 PM CDT)
THROUGH MIDNIGHT MDT (1 AM CDT) FOR AREAS GENERALLY WEST OF
HIGHWAY 83. A STRONG COLD FRONT WILL MOVE INTO THE NORTHWEST
PORTION OF THE AREA LATE THIS AFTERNOON QUICKLY MOVING SOUTH OR
SOUTHEAST ACROSS THE REMAINDER OF THE AREA THROUGH THIS EVENING.
WIND GUSTS AROUND 50 MPH ARE EXPECTED AND A FEW GUSTS COULD BE
HIGHER. BLOWING DUST IS EXPECTED IMMEDIATELY ALONG AND BEHIND THE
FRONT CREATING SHARPLY REDUCED VISIBILITIES.

A RED FLAG WARNING IS IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM MDT TO 5 PM MDT FOR
CHEYENNE AND KIT CARSON COUNTIES OF COLORADO. THE COMBINATION OF
LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY AND WIND GUSTS AROUND 30 MPH WILL CREATE
CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY

CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE POSSIBLE SATURDAY FOR
CHEYENNE COUNTY COLORADO AND GREELEY COUNTY KANSAS.

SPOTTER ACTIVATION WILL BE NEEDED TODAY AND TONIGHT. SPOTTERS ARE
ENCOURAGED TO REPORT SEVERE WEATHER AND ANY BLOWING DUST PRODUCING
REDUCED VISIBILITIES.
