This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of central...east
central...south central and southeast Colorado.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Strong to marginally severe thunderstorms will be possible later
this afternoon over the far southeastern plains. These storms will
be capable of wind gusts to 70 mph and hail up to the size of
quarters.

Over the remainder of the region, isolated high based thunderstorms
will be possible. These storms will be capable of locally strong
wind gusts and infrequent cloud to ground lightning.

Meteorological conditions for extreme fire behavior will occur
across the San Luis valley and most of Fremont county. Near critical
fire weather conditions will be possible across most of El Paso
county.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday

Isolated to scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms will be
possible across the area from Wednesday through Monday. The main
threat from storms will be cloud to ground lightning and wind
gusts up to 50 mph, with mainly small hail and locally heavy
rainfall possible with the strongest storms.

Locations over the mountains and the San Luis Valley will see
elevated fire weather conditions Wednesday and Thursday, with
expected breezy westerly winds and low humidity values. Caution
should be used with any outdoor burning activities.

Weather conditions that meet reporting criteria for spotters will be
possible this afternoon and this evening across the far eastern
plains.
