...DENSE SMOKE ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO 9 AM
EDT FRIDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CHARLESTON HAS ISSUED A DENSE
SMOKE ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO
9 AM EDT FRIDAY.

* LOCATIONS...FAR EASTERN AND SOUTHERN PORTIONS OF BERKELEY
  COUNTY AND UPPER CHARLESTON COUNTY.

* VISIBILITIES...LESS THAN 1 MILE AT TIMES...LOCALLY NEAR ZERO.

* TIMING...THE WORST VISIBILITIES WILL OCCUR BETWEEN 10 PM AND 9
  AM. THE SMOKE SHOULD LIFT BY LATE MORNING LEADING TO IMPROVED
  VISIBILITIES.

* AIR QUALITY IMPACTS...THICK SMOKE WILL MAKE TRAVEL DIFFICULT
  AND COULD CAUSE RESPIRATORY DIFFICULTY.

* ROAD IMPACTS...THE UNITED STATES FOREST SERVICE ANTICIPATES
  VERY LOW VISIBILITIES TO IMPACT HALFWAY CREEK ROAD...THE
  SOUTHERN PORTIONS OF HIGHWAY 41...GUERINS BRIDGE ROAD AND UNITED
  DRIVE. BE ALERT FOR POSSIBLE ROAD CLOSURES OVERNIGHT.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

EVERYONE IS ENCOURAGED TO STAY INDOORS AS THE AIR QUALITY WILL BE
HAZARDOUS. AVOID STRENUOUS ACTIVITIES IF YOU MUST WORK OUTDOORS.
MOTORISTS SHOULD BE ALERT FOR SUDDEN CHANGES IN VISIBILITIES. USE
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS WHENEVER DENSE SMOKE IS ENCOUNTERED.
