...VERY HOT IN THE COASTAL AND VALLEY AREAS MONDAY AND TUESDAY...

.Santa Ana winds and strong high pressure aloft will bring hot
weather through Wednesday. Monday and Tuesday will be the hottest
days with highs above 100 for inland coastal and western valley
areas. Temperatures may not fall below 70 Monday night in some of
the windier coastal foothill locations. Not quite as hot on
Wednesday with greater cooling for Thursday and Friday.

...EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM MONDAY TO
8 PM PDT TUESDAY...

* TEMPERATURE...Highs mostly in the 90s...except 98 to 106 for
  inland Orange County into the western Inland Empire and for the
  mesas to the western valleys in San Diego County. The beaches
  will not be quite as hot with high temperatures mostly in the
  80s.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illness is likely for those involved in
  strenuous outdoor activity, or those with health conditions that
  do not have adequate access to air conditioning. If untreated,
  heat illness events could be fatal. Never leave children or pets
  inside a parked car!

* OUTLOOK...Not quite as hot on Wednesday with greater cooling for Thursday
  and Friday.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

An Excessive Heat Warning means that a prolonged period of
dangerously hot temperatures will occur. The combination of hot
temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a dangerous
situation in which heat illnesses are likely. Drink plenty of
fluids...stay in an air-conditioned room...stay out of the sun...
and check up on relatives and neighbors.
