DAILY RIVER AND LAKE SUMMARY
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TAUNTON MA
1217 PM EDT Sun Mar 26 2017

High pressure over New England will slowly shift east today while a
stalled cold front just to our south begins lifting north as a warm
front. This will result in a period of light rain for western
Massachusetts and western Connecticut. Elsewhere across the region,
expect mainly dry conditions today, however cool easterly winds will
keep a damp feel to the air.

Rain will become more likely and widespread over our region tonight.
But cold air draining from north to south across our interior
sections could produce pockets of freezing rain and sleet.

On Monday, pockets of freezing rain may linger in the morning north
of the Mass Pike and outside of I-495, otherwise periods of rain
will continue throughout the day.

There will be lull in the precipitation Monday night then rain
chances return on Tuesday when a large complex storm system finally
moves through late in the day.

Rainfall totals over the next 24 to 48 hours will average from 0.25
to 0.75 inches. This will result in area main stem river levels
showing only slight rises.

These forecasts include 24 hour precipitation for the period ending
at 7 am today, and forecast precipitation through 7 am tomorrow.
