...PATCHY BLACK ICE TO REDEVELOP ACROSS THE PIEDMONT OF THE
WESTERN CAROLINAS OVERNIGHT...

With temperatures falling into the 20s overnight, expect any
residual water from melted snow, given warmer temperatures
earlier today, to refreeze on area roads. Expect patches of black
ice to form, which could be hard to see. This will make roadways
slippery in some areas overnight. Temperatures will rise above
freezing by about 10 am Saturday, and any lingering icy patches
should quickly melt.

Use extra caution if driving in the piedmont of western North
Carolina overnight into Saturday morning. Allow extra travel time
to reach your destination and be on the lookout for patches of
black ice.
