...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of central, south central, and southeast
  Virginia, including the following counties, in central Virginia,
  Prince Edward. In south central Virginia, Brunswick, Dinwiddie,
  Lunenburg, Nottoway and Prince George. In southeast Virginia,
  Greensville and Sussex.

* WHEN...Until 900 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 553 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
    indicated heavy rain. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected
    to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches
    of rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over
    the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Dinwiddie, Blackstone, Crewe, Victoria, Kenbridge, McKenney,
    Nottoway, Lunenburg, Jarratt, Burkeville, Stony Creek, Fort
    Barfoot, Wilsons, Spainville, Dundas, Dewitt, Green Bay,
    Carson, Darvills and Blackstone Airport.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
