.DISCUSSION...Thursday afternoon and evening will be a great time
for a prescribed burn, with gentle to moderate west winds, moderate
humidity and decent smoke dispersion. Overnight, enhanced radiational
cooling will lead to a strong temperature inversion and very shallow
smoke dispersion. Typically these conditions improve in the
mid to late-morning as the surface temperature increases, but Friday will
also see a deepening marine layer that will trap smoke and low clouds
within the lowest 1,500 ft all day. Winds will also shift to SW and
increase on Friday afternoon ahead of an approaching cold front. This
cold front will bring wetting rain, much lower temperature and higher
humidity starting Saturday. A gradually warming trend then kicks off
Sunday with the return of fair weather conditions next week.
