THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SPRINGFIELD HAS EXTENDED THE

* FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  NORTHERN SHANNON COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL MISSOURI...
  NORTHERN TEXAS COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL MISSOURI...
  NORTHERN WEBSTER COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST MISSOURI...
  NORTHERN WRIGHT COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST MISSOURI...
  SOUTHERN DENT COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL MISSOURI...

* UNTIL 500 PM CDT.

* AT 1145 AM CDT...THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION INDICATED THAT
  FLOODING CONTINUE ALONG LOW LYING ROADS ACROSS THE WARNED AREA.
  RIVER GAUGES IN THE WARNED AREA ALSO CONTINUED TO SHOW RISING
  LEVELS.

* RUNOFF FROM RAINFALL WHICH OCCURRED YESTERDAY AND EARLY TODAY IS
  CAUSING FLOODING. LOCATIONS IN THE WARNING INCLUDE...BUNKER...
  CURRENT RIVER STATE PARK...FORT LEONARD WOOD...HOUSTON...
  LICKING...MARSHFIELD...MONTAUK STATE PARK...NIANGUA AND
  RAYMONDVILLE. CREEKS...STREAMS AND LOW WATER CROSSINGS WILL BE
  ESPECIALLY SUSCEPTIBLE TO THE DANGERS OF FLOODING.

THIS WARNING INCLUDES BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING LOW WATER
CROSSINGS...

ROUTE KK AT GLADDEN CREEK JUST NORTH OF AKERS...
ROUTE ZZ AT THE MYERS BRANCH NEAR RADER...
ROUTE E NORTH OF HIGHWAY 38 AT THE GASCONADE RIVER...
GREENWOOD ROAD AT THE POMME DE TERRE HEADWATERS...
ROUTE A JUST SOUTH OF MARSHFIELD.

THE FOLLOWING ROADS ARE CLOSED DUE TO FLOODING...ROUTE TT IN DENT
COUNTY...ROUTES HH AND NN IN SHANNON COUNTY...ROUTE U IN TEXAS
COUNTY AND ROUTES Z AND E IN WRIGHT COUNTY.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

IN HILLY TERRAIN THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF LOW WATER CROSSINGS WHICH ARE
POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS IN HEAVY RAIN. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TRAVEL ACROSS
FLOODED ROADS. FIND ALTERNATE ROUTES. IT ONLY TAKES A FEW INCHES OF
SWIFTLY FLOWING WATER TO CARRY VEHICLES AWAY.
