Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southeast Kansas and Southwest and Central Missouri...UPDATED
National Weather Service Springfield MO
831 AM CST Thu Nov 16 2017

.DISCUSSION...

Dry weather is expected today with light easterly winds. Drizzle
or a few light showers will then be possible from late tonight
through Friday. Surface winds will increase and become brisk out
of the south to southeast.

A cold front will then bring a chance for showers and
thunderstorms to the region from later Friday night into Saturday
morning. Strong and gusty northwest winds will develop behind the
front for Saturday as a much drier air mass filters into the
region. This will lead to elevated fire weather conditions,
especially over areas that do not receive a wetting rain.
