FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR SOUTHERN/CENTRAL MO AND SE KS...UPDATED
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SPRINGFIELD MO
1035 AM CDT THU JUL 10 2014

.DISCUSSION...

MORNING UPDATE...

AN AREA OF SHOWERS WITH A FEW EMBEDDED RUMBLES OF THUNDER ARE
SPREADING EAST INTO AND ACROSS PORTIONS OF EXTREME SOUTHEASTERN
KANSAS AND FAR SOUTHWESTERN MISSOURI THIS MORNING. THIS ACTIVITY
WILL MAINLY AFFECT LOCATIONS ALONG AND SOUTH OF A PITTSBURG KANSAS
TO BRANSON MISSOURI LINE INTO EARLY THIS AFTERNOON WHEN IT WILL WEAKEN
AND DISSIPATE.

THIS ACTIVITY IS BRINGING INCREASED CLOUD COVER TO THE ENTIRE AREA THIS
MORNING. THE CLOUDS WILL BEGIN TO SLOWLY CLEAR FROM NORTHWEST TO SOUTHEAST
THIS AFTERNOON...BUT THE CLOUD COVER WILL STILL RESULT IN HIGHS BEING A
FEW DEGREES COOLER THIS AFTERNOON...ESPECIALLY ACROSS FAR SOUTHERN MISSOURI.

PREVIOUS DISCUSSION...

A WARM FRONT WILL LIFT NORTHEAST THROUGH THE AREA WITH SOME MODEST
CHANCES FOR SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS THROUGH TONIGHT.

HOT AND DRY WEATHER IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP FRIDAY AND INTO THE
WEEKEND WITH GUSTY SOUTHWEST WINDS AT TIMES.

A WEAK FRONT WILL MOVE SOUTH INTO THE AREA LATE SUNDAY FOLLOWED BY
A MUCH STRONGER FRONT ON MONDAY. THE BEST CHANCES OVERALL CHANCES
FOR SHOWERS LOOKS TO BE MONDAY AND/OR MONDAY NIGHT.

UNSEASONABLY COOL WEATHER IS THEN EXPECTED BY MIDWEEK BEHIND THE
FRONT.
