FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR SOUTHERN/CENTRAL MO AND SE KS...UPDATED
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SPRINGFIELD MO
1052 AM CST WED JAN 28 2015

.DISCUSSION...

UPDATE...FORECAST IS ON TRACK FOR THE REST OF TODAY. LOCATIONS
NEAR THE MISSOURI/KANSAS STATE LINE WILL HAVE RELATIVE HUMIDITY
VALUES IN THE 25 TO 30 PERCENT RANGE...WHICH APPROACHES RED FLAG
CRITERIA. WILL BE WATCHING DEWPOINTS VERY CLOSELY TO SEE IF
RELATIVE HUMIDITY VALUES COULD GET ANY LOWER.

PREVIOUS DISCUSSION...A GUSTY SOUTH WIND OF 25 TO 35 MPH THIS
AFTERNOON WILL COMBINE WITH LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY LEVELS IN THE
UPPER 20S TO LOW 30S OVER WESTERN MISSOURI AND EXTREME SOUTHEAST
KANSAS TO PRODUCE AN ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER HAZARD. THE WIND SHOULD
DIMINISH THIS EVENING WITH INCREASING HUMIDITY LEVELS TO REDUCE
THE HAZARD.
