FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR SOUTHERN/CENTRAL MO AND SE KS...UPDATED
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SPRINGFIELD MO
934 AM CDT FRI OCT 17 2014

.DISCUSSION...

MORNING UPDATE...

HAVE MADE A FEW MINOR CHANGES TO THE FORECAST THIS MORNING BY LOWER
MINIMUM HUMIDITIES BY A PERCENT OR TWO AND INCREASING WINDS SLIGHTLY.
NOW EXPECTED AFTERNOON HUMIDITIES TO BE IN THE 35 TO 45 PERCENT RANGE
NORTHERLY WINDS WILL OCCUR THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON AND COULD SEE SOME
GUST TO AROUND 2O TO 25 MPH AT TIMES ESPECIALLY ACROSS WEST CENTRAL AND
CENTRAL MISSOURI...WINDS WILL BE SLIGHTLY WEAKER CLOSER TO THE MISSOURI
ARKANSAS BORDER.

PREVIOUS DISCUSSION...

FOR ANYONE PLANNING ANY PRESCRIBED BURNS...MILD
TEMPERATURES...LOW HUMIDITY...AND DRY WEATHER WILL DOMINATE
THE OZARKS WEATHER OVER THE NEXT SEVEN DAYS.

MONDAY COULD BE THE EXCEPTION AS A FEW SHOWERS AND ISOLATED
THUNDERSTORMS CAN NOT BE RULED OUT. NOT ALL AREAS WILL
EXPERIENCE RAIN.

FORECASTING WIND SHIFTS WILL BE THE MOST DIFFICULT PORTION
OF THIS FORECAST...AS SEVERAL COOL FRONTS ARE EXPECTED
THROUGH THE WEEK.
