FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR SOUTHERN/CENTRAL MO AND SE KS...UPDATED
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SPRINGFIELD MO
1004 AM CDT TUE AUG 26 2014

.DISCUSSION...

MORNING UPDATE...

ONLY REAL CHANGE TO THE FORECAST THIS MORNING WAS TO PULL THE
POTENTIAL FOR ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS THIS AFTERNOON INTO EAST
CENTRAL KANSAS ALONG WITH THE EASTERN OZARKS. OTHER THAN THAT
FORECAST IS ON TRACK WITH AFTERNOON HUMIDITIES MIXING DOWN INTO
THE 30 PERCENTS. WINDS WILL BE LIGHT THIS AFTERNOON GENERALLY OUT
OF THE EAST...HOWEVER A WEAK BOUNDARY MAY RESULT IN LIGHT
NORTHERLY WINDS ACROSS PORTIONS OF CENTRAL MISSOURI THIS AFTERNOON.

PREVIOUS DISCUSSION...

HOT AND DRY CONDITIONS WILL PERSIST ACROSS THE AREA THROUGH
THURSDAY. ISOLATED SHOWERS AND STORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE EACH
AFTERNOON...BUT THIS WILL BE IN A VERY HIT OR MISS FASHION.
TEMPERATURES WILL GRADUALLY TREND BACK TO NEAR AVERAGE BY THIS
WEEKEND AS A FRONT MOVES THROUGH THE REGION AND BRINGS A GOOD
CHANCE FOR RAIN FRIDAY NIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT. QUIET WEATHER
WITH NEAR AVERAGE TEMPERATURES WILL ROUND OUT THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND
WITH THE NEXT CHANCE FOR RAIN COMING DURING THE MIDDLE OF NEXT
WEEK.
