FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR SOUTHERN/CENTRAL MO AND SE KS...UPDATED
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SPRINGFIELD MO
1024 AM CDT WED AUG 20 2014

.DISCUSSION...

MORNING UPDATE...

AN ISOLATED THUNDERSTORM OR TWO WILL BE POSSIBLE ACROSS FAR
SOUTHWESTERN MISSOURI AND EXTREME SOUTHEASTERN KANSAS THIS AFTERNOON.
HOWEVER...MOST LOCATIONS WILL REMAIN DRY AS THIS ACTIVITY WILL BE VERY
HIT AND MISS AND WILL BE WEAKENING AS IT PUSHES INTO THE AREA.

WINDS WILL STILL PICK UP AND BECOME GUSTY OUT OF THE SOUTH TO
SOUTHWEST THIS AFTERNOON MAINLY ACROSS EXTREME SOUTHEASTERN KANSAS
AND SOUTHWEST MISSOURI. TEMPERATURES WILL WARM INTO THE MIDDLE 90S
THIS AFTERNOON...AND WITH MIXING HUMIDITIES WILL DROP INTO THE 35 TO 40
PERCENT RANGE.

PREVIOUS DISCUSSION...

ISOLATED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED THIS AFTERNOON
ACROSS SOUTHWESTERN MISSOURI AND SOUTHEASTERN KANSAS. OTHERWISE...
HOT AND DRY WEATHER WILL CONTINUE THROUGH LATE THIS WEEK. BRISK
AND GUSTY SOUTH TO SOUTHWEST WINDS WILL CONTINUE DURING THE LATE
MORNING AND AFTERNOON HOURS. MIXING HEIGHTS WILL ALSO BE
RELATIVELY HIGH FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR.
