This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of the Missouri
Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

  Limited Non thunderstorm wind risk.

DISCUSSION...

  Southeasterly surface winds will gust to around 30 mph late
  this evening and tonight in and around the Springfield
  metropolitan area.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

  Brisk south winds will continue into Friday night ahead of
  an approaching cold front. Sustained winds around 20 mph
  with gusts over 30 mph are expected across southwestern
  Missouri and southeastern Kansas.

  A few thunderstorms will be possible Friday night into Saturday
  morning as that cold front moves through the outlook area. No
  severe storms are expected at this time with cloud to ground
  lightning being the main potential hazard.

  Strong and gusty northwest winds are then expected behind that
  front on Saturday with gusts over 40 mph likely. An elevated
  fire danger may also develop Saturday afternoon, especially
  in grassland areas that receive little or no rainfall Friday
  night.

  Spotter activation will not be needed through tonight.
