THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF THE MISSOURI
OZARKS AND EXTREME SOUTHEAST KANSAS.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED...

  LIMITED LIGHTNING RISK.
  ELEVATED TO SIGNIFICANT EXCESSIVE HEAT RISK.

DISCUSSION...

  AN ISOLATED THUNDERSTORM OR TWO WILL BE POSSIBLE THIS
  AFTERNOON...MAINLY ACROSS THE EASTERN MISSOURI OZARKS. CLOUD
  TO GROUND LIGHTNING...BRIEF HEAVY RAINFALL...AND LOCALLY
  GUSTY WINDS WILL BE THE PRIMARY POTENTIAL HAZARDS WITH ANY
  STORMS.

  AFTERNOON HEAT INDICES WILL RANGE FROM 98 TO 108 DEGREES. THE
  HIGHEST HEAT INDICES WILL OCCUR ALONG AND NORTH OF A FORT
  SCOTT KANSAS TO LAKE OF THE OZARKS LINE WHERE AN EXCESSIVE
  HEAT WARNING IS IN EFFECT THROUGH FRIDAY. A HEAT ADVISORY IS
  IN EFFECT FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE OUTLOOK AREA THROUGH
  FRIDAY.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY.

  A HEAT WAVE WILL CONTINUE ACROSS THE REGION THROUGH THE END
  OF THE WEEK. HEAT INDICES WILL RANGE FROM 100 TO 110 DEGREES
  ON AN AFTERNOON BASIS.

  A FEW ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS WILL AGAIN BE POSSIBLE WEDNESDAY
  AFTERNOON WITH CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING...BRIEF HEAVY
  DOWNPOURS...AND LOCALLY GUSTY WINDS THE MAIN POTENTIAL
  HAZARDS. HOWEVER MOST LOCATIONS WILL REMAIN DRY.

  THERE IS THEN A SLIGHT CHANCE FOR THUNDERSTORMS FROM LATE
  THIS WEEKEND INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK.
