THAT MOST LOCATIONS ACROSS SOUTHEASTERN KANSAS AND THE MISSOURI
OZARKS HAVE EXPERIENCED HEAT INDICES OF AT LEAST 103
DEGREES...WITH MANY LOCATIONS EXPERIENCING VALUES AS HIGH AS 110
DEGREES.

WITH THESE HIGH HEAT INDICES CONTINUING FOR YET ANOTHER DAY...AN

EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING...WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM CDT
TUESDAY. THE HEAT ADVISORY IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.

* SHORT TERM TRENDS...TEMPERATURES THIS AFTERNOON HAVE WARMED INTO
  THE MID 90S...WITH HEAT INDICES BETWEEN 100 AND 110 DEGREES.

* TIMING AND AREAS AFFECTED...ALL OF SOUTHEASTERN KANSAS AND THE
  MISSOURI OZARKS THROUGH TUESDAY EVENING.

* TEMPERATURE...HEAT INDICES TODAY WILL RANGE FROM 100 TO 107
  DEGREES. HEAT INDICES BETWEEN 103 AND 110 ARE THEN EXPECTED ON
  TUESDAY FOR MUCH OF THE AREA.

* IMPACTS...THE COMBINATION OF HIGH TEMPERATURES AND HIGH HUMIDITY WILL
  RESULT IN AN INCREASED POTENTIAL FOR HEAT RELATED ILLNESSES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

AN EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING MEANS THAT A PROLONGED PERIOD OF
DANGEROUSLY HOT TEMPERATURES WILL OCCUR. THE COMBINATION OF HOT
TEMPERATURES AND HIGH HUMIDITY WILL COMBINE TO CREATE A DANGEROUS
SITUATION IN WHICH HEAT ILLNESSES ARE LIKELY.

TAKE EXTRA PRECAUTIONS IF YOU WORK OR SPEND TIME OUTSIDE. WHEN
POSSIBLE...RESCHEDULE STRENUOUS ACTIVITIES TO EARLY MORNING OR
